CITY OF MUNFORD INTRODUCES TEXTING SERVICE TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITH RESIDENTS AND CUSTOMERS
WHAT: The City of Munford introduces TextMyGov, a convenient and smart text messaging service. This service will enable residents to effortlessly receive important notifications and easily find specific information by texting the City of Munford.
WHEN: The City of Munford will officially launch the new text messaging system to the public on September 23, 2025.
HOW IT WORKS: You may receive a text message from 91896 from the City of Munford initiating the service. You can choose to opt-out at any time by texting STOP.
If you don’t receive the initial message, you can choose to opt-in by texting the keyword MUNFORD to the number 91896. After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply YES to confirm opt-in. You may receive notifications for emergencies, closures, and more. There will also be opportunities to receive specific text alerts, for example:
- Text MUNFORDNWS to 91896 to receive National Weather Service Warnings
- Text MUNFORDEVENTS to 91896 to receive notice of upcoming City of Munford events.
Also starting soon, residents will be able to receive on-demand information 24/7 by texting 1-2 keywords to the City of Munford’s TextMyGov number, 901-329-4300. You’ll be able to get quick information about utilities, permits, and other City of Munford services.
