Munford Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting
The 2023 Munford Parks and Recreation Christmas Parade will be held Saturday December 2nd, 2023 at 5:00 PM! The annual Tree Lighting follows directly after the Christmas Parade, at City Park. Start time for the parade is 5:00pm
Best place to watch the parade?
McLaughlin from Pritchett to Doctors Drive is lined sidewalks and so is Munford Avenue. Bring your chairs!
Does it cost to enter?
There is no fee to participate in the parade HOWEVER we do ask that each entry bring 2-3 unwrapped gifts to fill the sleigh. We ask that these gifts be age appropriate for middle school aged students or their family members. You may also donate gift cards such as Amazon, Walmart, FiveBelow, Kroger etc. Those gift cards will be used to purchase items for MMS Students in need. All items donated will be given to Tipton County School students at Munford Middle School or their family members such as siblings etc. You may drop these off ahead of time at the Munford Parks and Rec office or on the day of the parade at the staging area, either before the parade or as your float passes by.
How will the floats be judged?
Floats will be judged in 2 categories with an overall grand prize winner.

Our $250 Visa Gift Card Grand Prize is returning once again this year! This year due to the changes at the Tree Lighting we will once again have our floats judged via the public on Facebook. TO BE JUDGED YOU MUST EMAIL A PICTURE (just one!) to CYarbrough@Munford.com by MONDAY 12/4/23. NO FLOATS will be allowed into the area around City Park, ABSOULUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS.
Float staging
The Munford High School parking lot will be the staging area. Do NOT drive onto Park St. then Pritchett Dr. until everyone one in your party has arrived. No cars will be allowed on Pritchett Dr. except for floats, including vehicles dropping off parade participants. When lining up for the parade you will leave the Munford High parking lot and turn right onto McLaughlin Dr. and follow to the 3 way stop and turn right onto Park St. go through the next 4 way stop and continue on Park until it runs into Pritchett Dr. You will then drive down Pritchett until you are directly behind another float/vehicle. Do not leave spaces. Please pull all the way forward, this allows for a much smoother lineup and parade start. This year, the Parade will turn left from Pritchett Dr. onto McLaughlin. Right onto Doctor’s Dr. Then Right onto Munford Ave. It will officially end at Tipton Road, Church of Christ. You may not stop here. You will turn left on to Charles Avenue and go to Maple Hill Drive and take left to get back to Munford High. You will NOT be able to go any other direction, but back to the High School NO EXCEPTIONS!

Rules for of the Parade
- There can be only 1 Santa Claus, no imposters. Only the City of Munford has this strict honor.
- ** PLEASE USE WALKERS TO HAND OUT CANDY TO THE SPECTATORS.
- The Parade officially starts at Doctor’s Dr. and Munford Ave. and heads west to Downtown Munford.
- Have all Float Drivers pay VERY close attention to what is in front of them, spectators, and the group following. Please stay no more than 10 yards apart. Our Parade is very large so this is VERY important.
- The Parade will officially end at the Tipton Road, Church of Christ. You may not stop here. You will turn on left on Charles Avenue and go to Maple Hill Drive and take left to get back to Munford High.
