Munford Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting

The 2025 Munford Parks and Recreation Christmas Parade will be held Saturday December 6th, 2025 at 5:00 PM! The annual Tree Lighting follows directly after the Christmas Parade, at Veterans Plaza. What time does the parade start?

Start time for the parade is 5:00 pm.

Best place to watch the parade?

McLaughlin from Pritchett to Doctors Drive is lined sidewalks and so is Munford Avenue. Bring your chairs!

Float staging

The Munford High School parking lot will be the staging area. Do NOT drive onto Park St. then Pritchett Dr. until everyone in your party has arrived. No cars will be allowed on Pritchett Dr. except for floats, including vehicles dropping off parade participants. When lining up for the parade, you will leave the Munford High parking lot and turn right onto McLaughlin Dr. and follow to the 3-way stop and turn right onto Park St., go through the next 4-way stop, and continue on Park until it runs into Pritchett Dr. You will then drive down Pritchett until you are directly behind another float/vehicle. Do not leave spaces. Please pull all the way forward. This allows for a much smoother lineup and parade start. This year, the parade will turn left from Pritchett Dr. onto McLaughlin, right onto Doctors Dr., then right onto Munford Ave. It will end at Veterans Plaza.  You may not stop here.  You will turn left onto Charles Avenue, go to Maple Hill Drive, and take a left to get back to Munford High. You will NOT be able to go any other direction, but back to the High School, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Munford Christmas Parade Guidelines

1. Only One Santa!
   There can only be one Santa Claus — the City of Munford holds this special honor, so no impostors, please.
2. Candy Handouts
   Please use walkers to hand out candy directly to spectators. For safety reasons, do not throw candy from floats or vehicles.
3. Parade Route
   The parade will officially begin at Doctor’s Drive and Munford Avenue, heading west toward Downtown Munford.
4. Float & Vehicle Safety
   Drivers must pay very close attention to what is in front of them, to spectators, and to the group following. Floats/entries should stay no more than 10 yards apart. With our parade being so large, this spacing is very important!
5. Parade Ending
   The parade will officially end at Veterans Plaza. Please do not stop here. Instead, turn left on Charles Avenue, continue to Maple Hill Drive, and turn left again to return to Munford High.
