| Have you ever wondered what you could do in the event of a heart attack? Do you know the basics of CPR? Now you can do more than dial 911, you can make a difference. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency medical procedure for a victim of cardiac arrest or respiratory arrest. The purpose of CPR is to maintain a flow of oxygenated blood to the brain and the heart. CPR is performed in hospitals or in the community by laypersons or by emergency response professionals. The Munford Parks and Recreation Department and Munford-Atoka Fire Department are proud to offer this life saving course. |
| Age limit: 13 Three types of certification are available: 1. CPR for Family and Friends (Non-certifying course) A basic CPR class to assist someone in need until professional health care responders arrive. There is no cost to receive this training. 2. Heartsaver CPR (Certifying course) Cost is $35 per registrant made payable to City of Munford Fire Department. 3. Heartsaver BLS (For Professional Certification) For anyone in or going into the medical profession. Cost is $35 per registrant made payable to City of Munford Fire Department. Please contact the Fire Department or Parks and Recreation for dates and times of classes. |
