Munford Special Census 2008
Dear Citizen of Munford:

The City of Munford is conducting a city-wide special census and we need your assistance.

When a community grows such as ours, it is important that every person is counted. In 2008, it is estimated that a municipality will receive $111 per person in state-shared revenues. Without this special census, the State will use the last verified census numbers from 2003 to calculate the amount of state-shared revenues the City will receive, leaving much needed revenue on the table—revenue that assists in paving roads, paying salaries for fire and safety personnel, vehicle maintenance, equipment upgrades, improving education, etc. Every person counts!

To aid in this special census, simply fill out the form at the bottom of this letter and return it with your utility payment due March 10, 2008. You may also drop it off at City Hall, either inside or at the drive through; or you may call City Hall and have the information collected by phone.

On March 10, 2008, the survey will be tabulated, and soon thereafter those not responding to the survey will receive a visit by a City employee to personally collect the data. This will add time and cost to the process. Please save the City — the taxpayers — this unnecessary expense by completing your survey today. And, if you return your completed survey by March 10, you will automatically be entered in a drawing to receive your City utilities free for the month of May.
