… is well trained All probationary firefighters receive extensive training in the latest firefighting and rescue techniques. Training is provided in handling emergency fire & medical calls as well as hazardous material situations. Firefighters may be involved in Fire Safety Programs such as Fire Prevention Week at the local schools, day cares & other special events. In fact, a firefighter’s education is never complete - firefighters are always learning and being kept up to date on the latest development and techniques in the fire and medical service.

…Is a vital member of a team Firefighters must work together as members of a well-honed team. Extended periods of time are spent working together, whether in emergency situations or performing maintenance duties around the fire station. The Fire Department provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to the communities. Firefighters work a shift which necessitates working at night, weekends and holidays. Our firefighters enjoy a high degree of public support and respect. Firefighters should always conduct themselves as professionals on/off duty.
