Throughout the year, the Munford Fire Department hosts several groups from local day care centers and elementary schools at the station house. During these visits, the children take an active part in learning fire safety. Department staff give demonstrations on a variety of techniques from smoke alarms and dialing 911 to learning how to crawl through smoke in a burning home. The tour is usually completed with the crowd pleasing favorite demonstration of the fire engine itself and the opportunity to wear a real helmet and sit behind the wheel! The Munford Fire Department is proud to play an active role in our community by educating our most precious commodity....our children.
